0G delays token unlock by one year and launches Compute Finance

0G (0G) Editor: Eugene Serbin

cryptobriefing.com reports that the AI-focused protocol 0G has postponed its initial token unlock for team members and early investors by a full year. The original distribution date of October 22, 2026, is now shifted to October 22, 2027, with the remaining tokens vesting over 24 months thereafter until September 2029. This schedule change coincides with the launch of Compute Finance, or ComFi, a framework allowing users to convert digital assets into AI compute credits.

ComFi introduces Ascend, a liquid staking service where users stake 0G tokens to receive composable a0G tokens. The second product, Infinite AI (iAI), launches on September 29, 2026, allowing users to mint iAI using a0G and stake it for ecosystem services. These services include access to the 0G Private Computer, which provides over 100 AI models.

Under initial parameters, each staked iAI token is designed to deliver a daily usage value exceeding $1. The delayed tokens represent 44% of the total 1 billion 0G supply. Once the floodgates open in October 2027, the vesting tail will be shorter than the original 36-month schedule, meaning the flow will be faster. 0G representatives stated that early investors cooperated with this decision to align with ecosystem growth.

0G is currently trading at $0.2457 with a 24-hour spot volume of $4,773,224. While the 1-hour buy ratio sits at 42.3% and the 4-hour ratio at 43.9%, the 24-hour buy ratio is higher at 53.3%, indicating that buying pressure has strengthened over the longer timeframe compared to the immediate short term. The 1-hour volume delta is negative at -$18,946 and the 4-hour delta is -$38,689, suggesting recent selling pressure, whereas the 24-hour volume delta is positive at +$325,359. This positive 24-hour delta means that total buy volume exceeded sell volume over the last day, despite the recent short-term outflow. Net buying occurred for 11 of the 24 hours, showing a mixed but ultimately net-positive flow for the day.

The latest daily buy ratio of 53.4% sits at the 92nd percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.5% - among the strongest buying days it has had.

Over the preceding week, the average buy ratio was 48.3%, making today's 24-hour ratio of 53.3% an unusual day with 5.0 points more buying activity than the weekly average. Spot volume was 1.93 times the weekly average, indicating significantly higher trading activity than usual. The price increased by 29.8% over the eight-day period, with a total volume delta of +$72,705. This contrasts with the immediate 1-hour negative delta, showing that while short-term selling exists, the broader weekly trend is strongly bullish. Only 3 of the 7 days saw net buying, suggesting this recent price surge and volume spike are notable deviations from the week's typical rhythm.
