Aster leads perp DEX holder count, outpacing ROLL five-to-one
intokened.com reports that Aster has accumulated 256,000 token holders, a figure roughly five times larger than its nearest rival, ROLL, which sits at 50,300. CryptoRank published this ranking of perpetual DEX tokens that held their token generation event within the past year, and BeInCrypto subsequently covered the data. The chart highlights that Aster leads among tokens launched after the market leader, Hyperliquid, which ran its TGE on 29 November 2024 and falls outside this specific window.
Aster launched in September 2025 and distributed tokens to a large number of wallets simultaneously, creating the wide gap seen in the holder count. Hyperliquid’s own airdrop reached more than 90,000 wallets at its TGE two years prior, eventually making it the ninth largest cryptocurrency. The metric counts addresses rather than unique persons, meaning airdrop farmers with multiple wallets inflate the total compared to exchange holders.
Despite having five times the holders, Aster’s token is worth roughly ten times less than Hyperliquid’s and has not matched its market valuation. Hyperliquid recently hit a new all-time high on the same day the holder chart was published. Coinbase has integrated Hyperliquid perps into its Base app for users outside the United States, a move that drives revenue distinct from holder counts. The article notes that $456 million in liquidated shorts occurred on venues where order flow volume defines the business, not just distribution.
