MultiversX jumps 32%, its biggest day on record, on a record number of trades

MultiversX (EGLD) Whalio analysis Editor: Eugene Serbin

MultiversX closed 2 September at $5.302 on Binance spot, up 31.89% on the day. In the 279 days of order-flow data Whalio holds for EGLD, no day has produced a larger gain; the next largest was 21.19% on 7 November 2025.

Participation set a record. Binance registered 132,557 trades in the pair over the day, against a median of 4,958 - 26.7 times the usual, and close to double the previous high of 67,234.

Turnover did not set one. $6,271,847 changed hands, the second-largest daily figure on record, behind $6,487,753 on 10 January 2026. A record number of trades on less than record turnover means the average ticket shrank: $47 against $99 on a median day.

Aggression stayed close to balanced. The buy ratio - the share of turnover that hit the ask rather than the bid - came in at 51.97%, the 72nd percentile of the coin's own history. Net taker buying totalled $256,406, or 4.1% of the day's turnover.

The advance was built through the afternoon rather than in one spike. EGLD traded at $4.20 at 11:00 UTC and $5.396 by 22:00. The two strongest hours for net buying were 14:00, with $83,000 net at a 57.46% buy ratio, and 22:00, with $122,000 at 58.13%. The single busiest hour by turnover, 17:00 with $800,000, ran the other way: net taker selling of $46,000 at a buy ratio of 47.09%.

What the tape does not show is a wave of one-sided buying. A 32% move on 26 times the usual number of trades, at half the usual ticket size, with taker flow only 4% net long, is consistent with a thin resting book being repriced by a large number of small orders rather than with size being lifted. That is a reading of the data, not a fact about who was trading: order flow records which side crossed the spread, not who sent the order or why.

The four figures above are the day itself. Read against the coin's own record they say something more specific than "EGLD rallied": the crowd was the largest ever measured in this pair, the money behind it was not a record, and the pressure that moved the price was close to even.

The latest daily buy ratio of 45.3% sits at the 18th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.5% - weaker buying than most days.

For scale

What these measurements normally look like, so the figures above can be told from ordinary ones.

Median daily turnover
$488,751
Median daily trades
4,958
Average trade that day
$47 vs $99
Buy-ratio percentile
72nd of 279 days

On a median day EGLD turns over $488,751 across 4,958 trades. 2 September ran 12.8 times that turnover and 26.7 times that trade count, with an average trade less than half the usual size. The buy ratio of 51.97% was elevated but unremarkable - a 72nd-percentile reading against the 279 days measured.
