House expands prediction market probe to Hyperliquid and Crypto.com

Cryptobriefing.com reports that the House Oversight Committee has widened its insider trading investigation to include Hyperliquid Labs and Crypto.com. Chairman James Comer sent letters on Tuesday requesting records on identity checks, geographic restrictions, and suspicious trading from these entities. The probe, which began in May with Polymarket and Kalshi, now extends to Aristotle-linked operations and PredictIt.

Lawmakers are examining whether platforms adequately safeguard against traders using nonpublic government information. A key focus is a $1.1 billion leveraged short opened on Hyperliquid roughly 30 hours before President Donald Trump announced new China tariffs in October 2025. That trader closed the positions for over $150 million in profit, though the committee has not established the trader possessed classified data.

The committee has received nearly 1,000 documents and five briefings from Polymarket and Kalshi since May. Crypto.com is asked to provide records on its international platform and derivatives division regarding suspicious activity referrals. The inquiry follows charges against a U.S. Army Master Sergeant and a Google engineer for allegedly using privileged information to profit on Polymarket.

The 1-hour volume delta is positive at $485,612, while the 4-hour delta is negative at -$1,037,183, suggesting that recent buying is outpacing earlier selling. Over the past 24 hours, the buy ratio sits at 51.3% with a positive volume delta of $668,282 and a cumulative volume delta of $332,545. This data shows that net buying has occurred for 11 of the last 24 hours. The 24-hour spot volume reached $25,638,746 across 73,534 trades. The shift from negative 4-hour delta to positive 1-hour delta suggests a short-term reversal in selling pressure.
