Hyperliquid Earns First USDC Reserve Revenue of $14.58 Million

Hyperliquid (HYPE) Editor: Eugene Serbin

lookonchain.com reports that Hyperliquid has generated its first USDC reserve revenue of $14.58 million. This payment came from the AQAv2 mechanism, which charges fees on USDC reserves held by the platform. The funds were transferred to the treasury wallet on October 3, covering the period from August 26 to September 24.

Hans, co-founder of Hyperdash, noted that this new stream allows the protocol to earn income directly from margin deposits. Circle mints corresponding assets on HyperEVM and charges daily fees, with settlements occurring every 30 days. Coinbase and Circle each staked 500,000 HYPE to participate in this mechanism.

The implied average rate for this period was roughly 3.14%, creating an annualized run rate of approximately $193 million. Hyperliquid’s open interest rose from $7.72 billion to $16.4 billion in the first nine months of 2026. Hans projects that annual revenue could reach $2.4 billion by the end of 2030 under baseline growth assumptions.

HYPE is trading at $89.31 with a 24-hour buy ratio of 53.1%, indicating a slight majority of buyers over the full day. However, the 1-hour buy ratio has dropped to 37.3%, suggesting that immediate buying pressure is fading compared to the broader trend. The 4-hour buy ratio stands at 62.2%, showing that buying interest was stronger earlier in the recent cycle. Volume Delta for the 24 hours is positive at $950,336, meaning net buying pressure has exceeded selling pressure over the day. In contrast, the 1-hour Volume Delta is -$50,168, indicating that recent trades have been net sellers. This shift from positive 4-hour delta to negative 1-hour delta suggests a short-term pause in accumulation.

Over the preceding week, HYPE experienced a 3.5% price decline despite 5 days of net buying out of 7. The 7-day average buy ratio was 50.9%, which is slightly higher than today’s 24-hour ratio of 53.1%, showing a marginal increase in buying preference. However, today’s spot volume of $15,051,414 is only 0.51x the weekly average, indicating significantly lower trading activity. This volume contraction suggests that while buying pressure remains relatively balanced, participant interest has cooled compared to the previous week's average. The weekly Volume Delta of +$11,300,273 contrasts with today’s +$950,336, highlighting a substantial drop in net buying volume on this specific day.
