ICP SNS framework enables app decentralization via DAO governance

bsc.news reports that the Internet Computer's Service Nervous System (SNS) allows developers to transfer full control of applications to users through a structured decentralization swap. This governance framework, built by @dfinity, converts centrally managed apps into community-run decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). Each SNS includes a native token that holders use to vote on upgrades, treasury decisions, and other app changes, ensuring no single party can make unilateral modifications.

Before an SNS launches, the Network Nervous System (NNS) community must approve the canister code and initial settings. A public decentralization swap then opens, where participants swap $ICP tokens for the SNS's native token, which are issued as locked voting neurons. All collected ICP flows directly into the new DAO's treasury, with token distribution proportional to contribution.

If the swap fails to meet minimum thresholds, the process unwinds, refunding ICP and reverting control to the developers. This model offers a standardized, NNS-vetted path to app-level decentralization, removing the need for developers to build governance systems from scratch.

Whalio data shows ICP trading at $3.29 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 73.3%, indicating strong immediate buying pressure compared to the 55.4% 4-hour ratio. The 24-hour buy ratio sits at 52.1%, suggesting that while short-term demand is high, the broader daily trend is only moderately bullish. Volume delta data reinforces this, showing +$195,624 in the last hour and +$129,018 over four hours, against a 24-hour cumulative delta of +$440,323. This positive volume delta means buyers are actively absorbing sell orders, pushing the price up rather than just filling existing liquidity. The market has seen net buying for 13 of the last 24 hours, with a total spot volume of $10,392,097 and 64,130 trades recorded.

The latest daily buy ratio of 49.2% sits at the 50th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.2% - ordinary for this coin.

Net buying occurred on 4 of the past 7 days, with an 8-day volume delta of +$734,574 and a price change of +2.9% over the period. This suggests that while buying pressure is currently intensifying in the short term, the broader weekly trend remains cautious with below-average volume.
