Morpho loans hit $5B record, narrowing gap with Aave

Morpho (MORPHO) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Cryptocurrency.com.tr reports that Morpho’s outstanding loans have reached an all-time high of $5 billion. This milestone was flagged by crypto analytics firm Messari on Tuesday, September 1. The growth brings the decentralized lending protocol closer to Aave, which remains the longtime leader in the space.

It also raises Morpho's profile among fintechs and stablecoin issuers routing credit through it. The composition of this $5 billion is heavily skewed, with 95% of borrowing denominated in stablecoins. USDC accounts for 62% of this total, indicating users are using it for dollar credit against crypto collateral rather than leveraged speculation.

On August 18, Messari noted that Morpho Blue loans had reached their highest level since October 2025. At that time, Robinhood and Base together were responsible for more than $650 million in fresh loans.
