Arch Lending Adds PAXG and XAUT as Collateral

PAX Gold (PAXG) Editor: Eugene Serbin

bitcoinethereumnews.com reports that Arch Lending has begun accepting PAX Gold (PAXG) and Tether Gold (XAUT) as collateral for crypto-backed loans. The platform, operated by ChainFi, Inc, is targeting investors who have previously avoided digital-asset lending due to slower processes. Loans for these tokenized gold assets start at $250,000 with fixed 12-month terms and are custodied by Anchorage Digital.

Interest rates begin at 9.25% APR for loans between $250,000 and $750,000, dropping to 7.25% APR for amounts above $5 million. This move brings institutional-grade credit access to gold investors, wealth advisors, and corporate treasuries. PAXG and XAUT now join Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP in Arch Lending’s collateral set.

The platform offers funding in dollars or USDC, differentiating itself from decentralized protocols like Aave. On January 29, 2026, Aave saw $24.99 million in outstanding debt against a $25 million ceiling for Tether Gold. CoinGecko data shows tokenized gold generated $90.7 billion in spot trading volume in Q1 2026. Himanshu Sahay, Co-Founder and CTO of Arch Lending, stated, “We’re seeing real demand from advisors and family offices with a gold sleeve who have never borrowed against it, because the process was slow and usually ended in a sale.”

PAXG is trading at $4,451.13 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 44.3%, indicating immediate selling pressure after the news. However, the 4-hour buy ratio has risen to 53.7%, suggesting that buying interest is building over a slightly longer timeframe compared to the short term. The 24-hour buy ratio sits at 42.6%, showing that net selling has dominated the full day. Volume delta reflects this shift, moving from a net outflow of $41,361 in the last hour to a net inflow of $491,581 over four hours. This indicates that while immediate reaction was negative, larger timeframes show accumulating buy-side liquidity. The 24-hour volume delta remains negative at -$2,197,572, confirming that sellers have controlled the day overall.

The latest daily buy ratio of 49.5% sits at the 60th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 48.4% - ordinary for this coin.

Over the preceding week, PAXG experienced a 4.8% price decline with only 2 of 7 days showing net buying. The 7-day average buy ratio was 48.4%, making today’s 24-hour ratio of 42.6% notably lower by 5.7 points. Volume was slightly elevated at 1.03 times the average, yet the total volume delta for the week was a net outflow of $8,633,435. This suggests that despite the news, the coin remains in a broader downtrend with consistent selling pressure. Today’s activity is not an outlier in volume but aligns with the week’s overall bearish bias.
