Clearpool launches RLUSD credit product on XRPL with Ripple and Cicada Partners
cryptobriefing.com reports that Clearpool is expanding to the XRP Ledger with its first institutional credit product. The protocol partners with Ripple and Cicada Partners to offer working capital loans denominated in RLUSD. Clearpool provides the lending infrastructure, while Cicada Partners manages credit risk with over $860 million in underwriting experience.
Ripple participates as a limited partner, contributing capital and technical support for the stablecoin integration. The loans target fintech and payments companies, utilizing RLUSD which has a market cap of roughly $2.37 billion. The product is currently testing on XRPL’s Devnet and relies on proposed standards XLS-65 and XLS-66.
These standards require validator approval before activation on the main network. Clearpool also proposed a 1:1 migration from CPOOL to CLEAR on September 11, 2026. This new token increases total supply from 1 billion to 1.125 billion, allocating 70% to existing holders.
The protocol has originated over $965 million in loans since 2021 with $30 million in current TVL. RLUSD operates under NYDFS supervision with custody handled by BNY. The yield comes from actual economic activity rather than token emissions.
