Ripple RLUSD Hits $2Bn Market Cap Milestone

Ripple USD (RLUSD) Editor: Eugene Serbin

cryptocurrency.com.tr reports that Ripple’s dollar-pegged stablecoin RLUSD has surpassed a $2 billion market capitalization. Jack McDonald, Ripple’s senior vice president responsible for stablecoins, confirmed that more than $1 billion of that supply was issued on the XRP Ledger. This milestone arrived less than two years after the token’s launch, according to a post McDonald shared on X. The disclosure highlights that RLUSD is positioned as dollar-based settlement infrastructure rather than a token confined to exchange order books.

McDonald’s statement distinguishes the XRP Ledger issuance from the token’s total market capitalization across all networks. The report notes that RLUSD supply on Ethereum has increased by 93% over 30 days. This growth has officially seen Ethereum surpass the XRP Ledger in total supply.

The total market cap is now closing in on $2.4 billion with the majority of supply living on Mainnet. McDonald’s disclosure serves as a clear signal of the stablecoin’s intended function in tokenized finance and payments.

Whalio data shows RLUSD trading at $1.00 with a 1-hour buy ratio of just 8.2%, indicating immediate selling pressure. However, the 4-hour buy ratio rises significantly to 58.8%, suggesting that buying interest is building over a slightly longer timeframe. The 24-hour buy ratio sits at 47.7%, showing a near-even split between buyers and sellers over the full day. Volume delta reflects this shift, moving from a negative $3,036,702 in the last hour to a positive $4,428,382 over four hours. This indicates that while short-term traders are selling, larger timeframes show net accumulation. The 24-hour volume delta remains negative at -$2,363,863, meaning cumulative selling has outweighed buying over the day.

The latest daily buy ratio of 39.6% sits at the 19th percentile of the last 267 days, against a median of 52.6% - weaker buying than most days.

Over the preceding week, the average buy ratio was 57.6%, making today’s 24-hour ratio of 47.7% notably lower. This represents a drop of 9.9 percentage points from the weekly average, indicating weaker relative buying strength. Spot volume for the day was $52,170,056, which is only 0.61 times the weekly average volume. While the coin saw net buying on 5 of the last 7 days, today’s flow is less robust than the recent trend. The 8-day volume delta totaled +$112,101,162, contrasting with today’s negative daily delta. This suggests that while the broader week has been accumulation-heavy, today is an unusual day of net outflow.
