Ripple Targets Corporate Treasuries for RLUSD Expansion

Ripple USD (RLUSD) Editor: Eugene Serbin

The Arabian Post reports that Ripple is targeting corporate treasuries to expand the use of its stablecoin, RLUSD. McDonald, Ripple’s senior vice-president of stablecoins, stated the company aims to integrate RLUSD into daily corporate cash movements, including cross-border transfers and domestic payments. This strategy follows Ripple’s $1 billion acquisition of treasury-management software provider GTreasury in 2025.

The acquired business, now part of Ripple Treasury, serves approximately 1,200 corporate treasurers and chief financial officers. RLUSD’s circulating supply has reached about $2.4 billion, with roughly $1 billion on the XRP Ledger and $1.4 billion on Ethereum. Daily active RLUSD volume rose to about $750 million from $200 million last month, driven by payments and capital-markets transactions.

Ripple is positioning the token for institutional settlement and liquidity management while integrating it with broader treasury products. Additionally, Ripple plans to make RLUSD available in Europe through a dual-issuance structure to comply with the Markets in Crypto-Assets framework. The token is issued in the United States through Standard Custody & Trust Company and backed by US dollar deposits and short-term US Treasuries.
