STRK Breaks $0.05 Amid New Narrative as Whalio Data Shows Mixed Buying Pressure

Starknet (STRK) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Starknet’s STRK token surged nearly 9% in 24 hours to trade near $0.0576, breaking above the $0.05 resistance level it had held for over a week, according to cvj.ai. The rally pushed the price to a high of $0.0607, marking its highest level since May and a 48% gain over seven days. This move follows a period where STRK traded between $0.041 and $0.044 before breaking out on October 3.

Analyst Karamata_ noted on X that Starknet is finally getting a second narrative combining Bitcoin and privacy, which has a clearer connection to the token than the previous Ethereum ZK L2 thesis. Technical indicators support the bullish move, with the daily MACD line at 0.0057 above its signal line and the weekly RSI turning higher after months of divergence. Trading activity has increased significantly, with daily volume near $155 million and derivatives volume up 76%.

On-chain data shows accumulation, including a purchase of 17.4 million STRK by a wallet linked to Quanterty and $740,000 bought by Pumpnomics. Network fundamentals are also improving, with Starknet clearing $50,000 in weekly revenue for the first time. Despite the surge, STRK remains about 62% lower than a year ago, and about 7.42 billion of its 10 billion maximum supply is in circulation.

Whalio’s Binance spot data for STRK shows a price of $0.05871 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 55.8%, indicating short-term buying pressure. However, the 4-hour buy ratio is 50.5%, and the 24-hour ratio has dropped to 49.6%, suggesting that buying momentum is fading over a longer timeframe. The 1-hour volume delta is positive at +$42,209, meaning buyers are currently outpacing sellers in the immediate term. In contrast, the 24-hour volume delta is negative at -$128,708, showing that sellers have dominated the total volume over the last day. The cumulative volume delta (CVD) for the 24-hour close is -$39,633, confirming that net selling pressure has outweighed buying pressure over the full day. Spot volume for the period was $22,633,443 across 312,602 trades, with net buying occurring in only 9 of the 24 hours.

The latest daily buy ratio of 46.5% sits at the 20th percentile of the last 323 days, against a median of 48.6% - weaker buying than most days.

Over the preceding week, the average buy ratio was 49.0%, making today’s 24-hour ratio of 49.6% only marginally higher by 0.6 percentage points. Trading volume was 3.74 times the weekly average, indicating an unusual spike in activity compared to normal days. Despite this volume surge, net buying occurred on only 1 of the 7 days, and the 8-day volume delta was negative -$825,070. This contrasts with the current day’s 24-hour volume delta of -$128,708, showing that while volume is high, the broader weekly trend remains net negative. The price increased by 39.6% over the 8-day period, but the lack of consistent net buying days suggests the rally is not yet broadly supported by sustained accumulation.
