Binance extends USD1 airdrop with 150M WLFI tokens

cryptobriefing.com reports that Binance is extending its USD1 stablecoin airdrop program for another four-week period. The campaign runs from September 4 through October 2, 2026, distributing 150 million WLFI tokens to holders with a net positive USD1 balance. Eligible accounts include Spot, Funding, Margin, and USDM Futures, though positions funded by borrowed stablecoins like USDT or USDC face haircuts.

A 1.2x bonus multiplier is available for certain collateral holdings, potentially boosting the annualized yield to approximately 6.33%. This 150 million token pool is smaller than the 178 million distributed in June to July and the 235 million pool from earlier in 2026. The shrinking pool suggests Binance may be reducing subsidies as USD1 adoption grows organically.

World Liberty Financial, the issuer behind USD1, uses this partnership to decentralize token ownership and build a community. Holders receive yields in WLFI tokens rather than USD1, meaning actual returns depend on the token's market price at distribution and sale. A 50% drop in WLFI value would effectively cut the 6% yield to 3% or worse.

USD1 is trading at $0.9998 with a 24-hour spot volume of $143,518,645 across 264,830 trades. Short-term buying pressure is present, with the 1-hour buy ratio at 53.5% and the 4-hour ratio at 50.6%, both showing positive volume deltas of over $730,000. However, this momentum fades over the longer term, as the 24-hour buy ratio drops to 42.9% with a net outflow of $20,391,312. The buy ratio indicates the percentage of volume driven by buyers, while the volume delta measures the net difference between buy and sell volume. Net buying occurred for only 5 of the last 24 hours, indicating that selling pressure dominated the daily flow despite short-term spikes.

The latest daily buy ratio of 45.9% sits at the 26th percentile of the last 281 days, against a median of 49.6% - weaker buying than most days.

Compared to the preceding week, today’s activity shows a slight shift in sentiment but remains within a broader downtrend. The 24-hour buy ratio of 42.9% is lower than the 7-day average of 48.1%, a difference of 5.2 percentage points. Volume today was also subdued, trading at 0.75 times the weekly average. Over the past eight days, the coin experienced a total volume delta of -$76,909,254, with net buying occurring on only 2 of the 7 days. This indicates that the current day’s short-term buying is an anomaly against a week characterized by consistent net outflows.
