WLFI plans USD1 payments rollout for major online businesses

tradersunion.com reports that World Liberty Financial is expanding the commercial use of its USD1 stablecoin by targeting large online merchants through an integration planned for this quarter. The Trump-backed venture aims to broaden its payments strategy while moving to assume direct issuance of the token under a conditional U.S. trust bank approval. CoinGecko data cited in the report places USD1's market capitalization at $4.45 billion at the time of writing.

The technology is intended to extend beyond the World Liberty app to reach some of the largest Web2 businesses in the market. USD1 is designed to maintain a value of $1 and is currently issued by BitGo, backed by reserves including cash, U.S. government money market funds, and other cash equivalents. WLFI is positioning to take over issuance after the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted conditional approval in August for the company to establish a national trust bank.

Witkoff stated that this structure would allow WLFI to issue dollar-backed stablecoins directly and custody digital assets itself instead of relying on BitGo. He described the conditional approval as an achievement secured despite criticism from mainstream media and politicians. The approval has drawn criticism from Senator Elizabeth Warren, who alleged conflicts of interest tied to the Trump family's connection to WLFI. Warren and other senators introduced the Ending Presidential Corruption in Banking Act in response to these concerns.

WLFI is trading at $0.05630 with a spot volume of $5,208,751 over the last 24 hours. The 24-hour buy ratio stands at 49.4%, which is nearly balanced, while the 1-hour ratio has dipped to 42.5%, indicating a short-term shift toward selling pressure. Volume delta reflects this imbalance, showing a net outflow of $67,822 over the day and a sharper $18,303 outflow in the last hour. Volume delta measures the difference between buy and sell volume, so negative figures mean sellers are dominating buyers. The cumulative volume delta closed at -$454,436, confirming that net selling pressure has outweighed buying pressure throughout the day. Buying pressure is fading in the immediate short term, as the 1-hour buy ratio is lower than the 4-hour ratio of 49.0%.

The latest daily buy ratio of 43.5% sits at the 10th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 47.8% - weaker buying than most days.

Over the preceding week, WLFI saw a 7-day average buy ratio of 47.4%, with the latest day showing a slight increase of 1.9 points above that average. Volume was 1.01 times the average, suggesting trading activity was largely consistent with recent norms. However, the price change over eight days was -0.4%, and total volume delta for the period was -$1,170,752. This indicates that despite a marginal uptick in buying ratio today, the coin has experienced net selling pressure over the longer timeframe. It is an ordinary day for the coin, as volume was near average and the buy ratio remained close to the weekly mean.
