Anchorage Digital Selects LayerZero for Cross-Chain Stablecoins

LayerZero (ZRO) Editor: Eugene Serbin

bsc.news reports that Anchorage Digital, the only federally chartered crypto bank in the United States, has chosen LayerZero as its interoperability provider for stablecoin issuance. This partnership utilizes LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token protocol to allow regulated stablecoins to move across more than 170 blockchains. The initiative aims to bring federally regulated digital dollars to a broad range of blockchain networks under a single compliance framework.

Anchorage will use this infrastructure to support tokens such as $USAT, $USDPT, and $USDGO. The move creates a single issuance layer that serves institutions on virtually any major chain without requiring separate custody arrangements. Anchorage operates under the direct oversight of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, ensuring cross-chain operations meet federal security standards.

CEO Nathan McCauley stated at Consensus Miami 2026 that since the Genius Act passed, Anchorage has won every single large stablecoin issuance mandate across the landscape. OSL Group and Western Union have already launched $USDGO and $USDPT respectively through the Anchorage platform. This integration removes the fragmentation that historically limited institutional adoption of cross-chain digital assets.

LayerZero (ZRO) is trading at $1.18 with a 24-hour buy ratio of 52.6%, indicating that buyers have controlled the majority of volume over the last day. However, short-term pressure has shifted, with the 1-hour buy ratio dropping to 40.3% and the 4-hour ratio at 47.4%, suggesting buying momentum is fading in the immediate term. The volume delta reflects this shift, showing a net outflow of $86,436 in the last hour and $113,266 over four hours, compared to a net inflow of $391,805 over 24 hours. The cumulative volume delta closed at -$143,372, meaning sellers have absorbed more volume than buyers over the full day. Despite the recent dip, there were 11 hours of net buying within the 24-hour window, showing that interest remains present but is currently being outpaced by selling pressure.

The latest daily buy ratio of 49.7% sits at the 64th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 48.5% - ordinary for this coin.

Over the preceding week, the buy ratio averaged 49.5%, meaning today's 24-hour ratio of 52.6% is 3.0 points above the average, indicating slightly stronger buying interest than usual. Trading activity has also accelerated, with spot volume reaching 1.52 times the weekly average. This elevated volume coincides with a 16.2% price increase over the past eight days. However, the total volume delta for the week remains negative at -$158,116, showing that despite the price rise and volume spike, net selling pressure has persisted over the longer timeframe. This suggests that while the coin is seeing unusual attention and price appreciation, the underlying flow remains net negative.
