Aave adds Coinbase tokenized stocks as loan collateral

Aave (AAVE) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Cryptocurrency.com.tr reports that Aave has launched a dedicated vault on its V4 hub built on the Base chain. This new vault accepts several leading tokenized stocks issued by Coinbase as collateral. The accepted equities include Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN), Google (GOOG), Meta (META), Microsoft (MSFT), Nvidia (NVDA), and Tesla (TSLA).

Users depositing these tokenized assets can receive USDC loans for DeFi liquidity or further trading. The vault has already attracted liquidity in the days following its launch. Aave’s V4 tools are designed to tap traditional finance and bring Wall Street activity to existing chains.

Currently, there is no standard for using tokenized equities in DeFi. Only Morpho uses curated vaults based on selected Coinbase equities. These vaults are curated by Steakhouse and Chipwork. They offer variable-rate USDC loans to participants.
