Aave V3 dominates USDT0 deposits as AAVE trades sideways

Aave (AAVE) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Cryptobriefing.com reports that Aave V3 now holds 78.6% of the approximately $872.7 million in USDT0 deposits across decentralized finance. This concentration of stablecoin liquidity means nearly four out of every five dollars of USDT0 in DeFi resides within the protocol. When including USDT, Aave V3 controls about 62.8% of the $6.1 billion total value locked across 29 protocols, amounting to roughly $3.83 billion.

Over a 90-day period ending in late July 2026, net USDT deposits on Aave V3’s Core market increased by $526 million, raising holdings from $1.93 billion to $3.03 billion. Utilization rates on the platform frequently exceed 90%, prompting governance votes to raise supply caps, including a June 2026 adjustment that set the ceiling at $3.48 billion. USDT0, launched in early 2025, is Tether’s omnichain stablecoin utilizing LayerZero technology for cross-chain movement.

Since its launch, USDT0 has facilitated between $85 billion and $100 billion in cross-chain volume. The protocol’s multi-chain strategy, including deployments on networks like Plasma, has made USDT0 a natural fit for its markets. Competing protocols face a steep challenge as the remaining 28 platforms split roughly $2.27 billion among themselves. High stablecoin utilization suggests active leverage, with traders borrowing stablecoins to fund yield strategies or deploy into volatile assets.

AAVE is trading at $127.21 with a 24-hour buy ratio of 52.3%, indicating a slight preference for buying over the full day. However, shorter-term pressure is weaker, with the 1-hour buy ratio at 39.3% and the 4-hour ratio at 49.7%. The 1-hour volume delta is negative at -$139,076, while the 4-hour delta is slightly negative at -$27,404. This contrast suggests that immediate buying momentum is fading compared to the broader 24-hour trend. The 24-hour volume delta is positive at +$1,176,619, showing net buying pressure over the longer timeframe. CVD at the 24-hour close is -$511,577, indicating that despite the positive delta, cumulative volume delta has turned negative by the close of the period.
