Aave V4 launches stock-collateralized lending on Base

Aave (AAVE) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Lookonchain.com reports that Aave V4 has launched its Equities Hub on Base, allowing eligible non-U.S. users to borrow USDC against tokenized U.S. equities. The protocol supports seven Coinbase tokenized stocks from Apple, Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Tesla, with Chainlink providing on-chain price oracles. The market features a total collateral cap of roughly $29 million, a USDC supply cap of $32 million, and a borrow cap of $21 million.

Individual stock collateral ratios range from 65% to 79%, with plans to potentially add more equities and GHO as borrowable assets pending governance votes. Aave’s cumulative deposit volume has reached $3.6 trillion, while its historical lending volume exceeds $1 trillion. The crypto market is experiencing minor volatility as altcoins begin a rotation rally, with DeFi tokens rallying broadly.

Assets including QI, QUICK, ENA, and JTO are leading the gains in this sector-wide movement. A new wallet 0xbe51 withdrew 428,640 HYPE from multiple exchanges including Bybit, Kraken, Wintermute, Gate, and OKX over 8 hours. The U.S. SEC and CFTC released an update to their joint cryptocurrency FAQs, noting that token repurchases and network upgrades do not automatically qualify as securities. Additionally, Claude successfully completed 9-loop cutting-edge physics calculations, which experts originally thought would be too difficult for direct calculation.
