Cardano Breaks Multi-Year Range as ADA Joins x402 Payment Standard

Cardano (ADA) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Techbullion.com reports that Cardano broke above its multi-year resistance range on September 21, reaching $0.2478 by September 22. The Cardano Foundation joined the x402 payment standard, allowing apps to pay with ADA without API keys or checkout forms. Coinbase created the protocol, which is now backed by the Linux Foundation and includes members like Visa, Google, and Stripe.

Analyst Sssebi described the breakout as the start of a “huge turn” for the asset. The price recorded a 19.3% gain over seven days, testing the $0.25 area. Support is currently held at $0.19, while a daily close above $0.2586 would signal a larger move.

The Van Rossem hard fork reduced smart contract costs in July, adding to the bullish case. Despite the breakout, the asset sits on a $9 billion market cap, requiring a triple in price to reach $0.75.

Whalio data shows ADA trading at $0.2543 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 48.0% and a 4-hour buy ratio of 47.1%. These short-term figures are slightly lower than the 24-hour buy ratio of 48.6%, indicating that buying pressure is fading relative to the daily average. The 24-hour volume delta is -$2,119,379, meaning sellers have dominated the flow over the last day. This negative delta suggests that despite the price increase, net selling pressure has been present. The spot volume reached $75,672,413 with 300,414 trades, showing active participation despite the net outflow.

The latest daily buy ratio of 45.6% sits at the 5th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.2% - among the weakest buying days it has had.

Volume was 1.88 times the average, indicating significantly higher activity than usual. The price rose 30.1% over eight days, with a total volume delta of +$1,771,503.
