Cardano releases node 11.1.1 ahead of Dijkstra hard fork
bitcoinethereumnews.com reports that Cardano has released node version 11.1.1, marking the first milestone toward the Dijkstra hard fork. The update, published by Intersect over the weekend ending Sept. 6, removes the legacy tracing system and addresses memory issues found in node 11.1.0. This maintenance release prepares the network for the upcoming era without activating the full Dijkstra features immediately.
Intersect has outlined a schedule placing the moderate confidence enactment window between Dec. 5, 2026, and Jan. 4, 2027. A later high confidence window is set for Feb. 24 to March 26, 2027. Node 11.2 is expected within a month to introduce most Dijkstra features for testing, excluding Leios components.
Following this, node 11.3 will serve as the hard-fork candidate with the full feature set, including Linear Leios. The public DijkstraNet testnet will launch alongside MusashiNet to allow parallel testing of ledger and consensus changes. Key features under test include Plutus V4, Nested Transactions, and CIP-50 parameters.
Node 12.0 will eventually become the definitive protocol version 12 release. Activation remains conditional on technical readiness and on-chain governance approval.
How the market reacted
Whalio's own Binance spot order flow for ADA, measured when this story was written up on 8 September 2026. Not the outlet's figures.
ADA is trading at $0.2205 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 56.6% and a 4-hour buy ratio of 56.4%, indicating short-term buying dominance. This contrasts with the 24-hour buy ratio of 48.4%, suggesting that recent buying pressure is building after a longer period of balanced activity. The 1-hour volume delta is positive at $775,908, while the 4-hour delta stands at $1,931,979, showing immediate inflows. However, the 24-hour volume delta is negative at -$1,188,754, indicating that outflows outweighed inflows over the full day. The cumulative volume delta (CVD) for the 24-hour close is +$2,735,137, reflecting net buying by the end of the period. Spot volume reached $38,349,130 with 179,700 trades in the last 24 hours.
The latest daily buy ratio of 45.6% sits at the 5th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.2% - among the weakest buying days it has had.
Was that an ordinary day?
The same Binance spot measurements for ADA, averaged over the days leading up to the story.
Over the preceding week, the average buy ratio was 49.3%, making the current 24-hour ratio of 48.4% slightly below the weekly norm by 0.9 points. Volume was 1.24 times the average, indicating an unusually active trading day compared to the standard pace. While the 8-day price change was +11.5%, the total volume delta for that period was -$2,130,848, showing net outflows over the longer timeframe. Only 3 of the 7 days saw net buying, highlighting that this recent surge is a deviation from the weekly trend. The current short-term inflows stand in contrast to the broader weekly outflow trend.
