Cardano Treasury Rejects Input IO's Pogun Proposal

Cardano (ADA) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Cardano's delegated governance voters allowed a request for 12.29 million ADA from the network's treasury to expire without ratification, according to cryptocurrency.com.tr. The proposal, known as Pogun, was an Input IO-backed credit and liquidity product designed to bring Bitcoin into decentralized finance. In exchange for development funding, the project offered Cardano a share of the business.

Input IO is the founding builder of the network, but this vote demonstrates that its history does not guarantee automatic access to public capital. The final Koios voting summary recorded 35.67% of delegated representative voting power in favor and 64.33% against. Charles Hoskinson stated that the product is still headed to Cardano.

He explained that future Input IO ventures will follow technical and commercial fit instead of an automatic Cardano-first policy. The result is a clear test of decentralized control where representatives withheld capital from an affiliated commercial project. Input IO retained the freedom to deploy products wherever technical and business conditions are strongest. This outcome signals a shift away from guaranteed funding for the founding builder.
