ATQM highlights quantum risks and plans P2P launch

Cosmos (ATOM) Editor: Eugene Serbin

limitless-vip.com reported on the architectural challenges facing blockchain upgrades in the face of quantum computing. It noted that past transaction history is immutable, meaning historical records already contain mathematical clues to private keys on the public ledger. Changing future signature algorithms does not erase these past records, leaving addresses exposed to retroactive quantum computation.

The outlet also highlighted the difficulty of migrating legacy and dormant wallets, which require active signatures that lost keys or fixed smart contracts cannot provide. Securing an entire blockchain requires updating user signatures, network consensus, and state validation simultaneously, which is more vulnerable than building a post-quantum L1 natively from the first block. ATQM took this native path, avoiding the disruption of retrofitting an active network.

The immediate focus for ATQM is now liquidity within its own ecosystem. A dedicated P2P platform is scheduled to roll out in the second half of September. This launch will accompany a native DEX and wallet, allowing the community to trade directly without depending on third-party exchange schedules.

ATOM is currently trading at $1.56 on Binance spot markets. The 1-hour buy ratio stands at 34.0%, indicating short-term selling pressure, while the 4-hour buy ratio is higher at 58.3%, suggesting buying interest is building over a slightly longer timeframe. Volume delta reflects this shift, showing a negative $15,772 in the last hour compared to a positive $55,957 over four hours. Over the past 24 hours, the buy ratio is 50.7% with a positive volume delta of $16,694, indicating a net inflow of capital. CVD for the 24-hour close is +$73,363, with net buying occurring in 13 of the last 24 hours. This data shows a transition from immediate short-term outflows to sustained medium-term accumulation.

The latest daily buy ratio of 44.7% sits at the 9th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.8% - among the weakest buying days it has had.

Over the preceding week, the 7-day average buy ratio was 47.8%, making the current 24-hour ratio of 50.7% slightly above average by 2.9 points. However, the 24-hour volume of $1,243,996 is only 0.95x the weekly average, indicating lower-than-normal trading activity. Net buying occurred on just 1 of the 7 days, contrasting with the 13 days of net buying seen in the last 24 hours. The price increased by 3.7% over eight days, despite a total volume delta of -$284,118 for that period. This suggests that while the coin has gained value, the recent day is characterized by lower volume and more consistent buying than the broader weekly trend.
