Cosmos ecosystem shifts USDC issuance from Noble to Injective
bsc.news reports that Circle has begun issuing USDC natively on Injective, replacing Noble as the primary issuance chain for the Cosmos ecosystem. Key participants including Cosmos Hub, dYdX, and the routing layer Skip:Go have signed on to make Injective USDC the canonical standard. Injective launched this native USDC via Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, marking Circle's first MultiVM issuance where the token holds a single balance across EVM and WASM environments. dYdX plans to adopt Injective-native USDC as its sole trading collateral, while Cosmos Hub has committed to the standard for at least four years.
This shift coincides with Noble moving its SDK-based chain into maintenance mode ahead of a new EVM-compatible Layer 1 launch on March 18, 2026. Circle announced the discontinuation of USDC and CCTP V1 support on Noble, with burn limits beginning to decline on October 31, 2026. The contracts will pause entirely on December 1, 2026, meaning Noble will not receive the upgraded CCTP V2 protocol.
Developers are advised to migrate to Injective USDC and set up support for the USDC.inj denomination before the deadline. The integration is also designed to generate fees that fund programmatic buybacks of ATOM, the native token of Cosmos Hub.
How the market reacted
Whalio's own Binance spot order flow for ATOM, measured when this story was written up on 10 September 2026. Not the outlet's figures.
ATOM is trading at $1.86 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 58.8% and a 4-hour buy ratio of 56.9%, both indicating stronger buying pressure than the 24-hour average of 50.7%. Volume deltas show net inflows of $23,176 in the last hour and $97,468 over four hours, suggesting immediate accumulation. This buying pressure is building compared to the 24-hour volume delta of $124,908, which shows a more balanced flow over the full day. The buy ratio measures the proportion of trades executed by buyers versus sellers, so ratios above 50% indicate that buyers are currently dominating the market. Positive volume deltas confirm that more capital is flowing into spot positions than leaving them during these short timeframes.
The latest daily buy ratio of 44.7% sits at the 9th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.8% - among the weakest buying days it has had.
Was that an ordinary day?
The same Binance spot measurements for ATOM, averaged over the days leading up to the story.
Over the preceding week, ATOM saw a 7-day average buy ratio of 51.2%, which is slightly lower than the current 24-hour reading of 50.7%. However, the 24-hour spot volume of $8,542,374 represents a 4.14x increase compared to the weekly average, marking this as an unusually active trading day. The 8-day price change of +27.6% and a total volume delta of +$517,965 highlight sustained bullish momentum leading into this event. While the buy ratio remains near neutral on a weekly scale, the surge in volume suggests heightened interest in the asset. This volume spike is significantly higher than what is typical for the coin, indicating a sharp deviation from normal trading patterns.
