ZetaChain Vote Passes to Migrate ZETA Token from Cosmos to Solana
cvj.ai reports that ZetaChain tokenholders approved a plan to shut down its Cosmos-based Layer 1 and migrate the ZETA token to Solana. The proposal passed with 99.4% support and 58% participation, clearing the 40% quorum requirement. ZETA will become an SPL token on Solana via a 1:1 conversion, keeping the same ticker and total supply without creating new tokens.
Core contributors must still submit a second proposal to define the shutdown timetable and mechanics like the snapshot block height. The project cites the operational burden of running Cosmos SDK infrastructure and coordinating upgrades as the primary reason for the move. ZetaChain launched in 2021 as an interoperability project and raised $27 million in 2023 from investors including Blockchain.com and Jane Street Capital.
The shift allows the team to focus resources on Anuma, a privacy-focused AI application with over 300,000 users. ZetaChain previously suffered a $334,000 exploit in April targeting its cross-chain gateway contract.
How the market reacted
Whalio's own Binance spot order flow for ATOM, measured when this story was written up on 22 September 2026. Not the outlet's figures.
ATOM is trading at $1.81 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 63.5%, indicating immediate short-term buying pressure. However, the 4-hour buy ratio drops to 40.7%, suggesting that this buying interest is fading over a slightly longer timeframe. The 24-hour volume delta is positive at +$41,079, showing net inflows over the day, though the 1-hour delta of +$17,320 contrasts with a 4-hour outflow of -$171,300. A buy ratio above 50% means buyers are more aggressive than sellers, while a positive volume delta indicates more money is flowing in than out. The 24-hour CVD stands at -$118,246, highlighting that despite recent spot buying, cumulative volume has been net negative over the full day.
The latest daily buy ratio of 44.7% sits at the 9th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.8% - among the weakest buying days it has had.
Was that an ordinary day?
The same Binance spot measurements for ATOM, averaged over the days leading up to the story.
Over the preceding week, ATOM saw a 7-day average buy ratio of 51.2%, which is slightly higher than today's 24-hour reading of 50.4%. Volume over the last 24 hours was 1.66x the weekly average, making this an unusually active trading day. The price increased by 14.5% over the past eight days, supported by a total volume delta of +$513,934. While today's activity is heavy, the sustained buying over the week suggests a consistent upward trend rather than a one-off spike. This follows a pattern of five days of net buying out of seven in the preceding week.
