Bitcoin ETF inflows drop 76% to $174.6M before Labor Day

Bitcoin (BTC) Editor: Eugene Serbin

bitcoinethereumnews.com reports that US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded net inflows of $174.6 million on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026. This total represents a 76.1% decline from the $730.8 million recorded on Thursday, Sept. 3. Only BlackRock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s FBTC attracted positive net flows, with IBIT receiving $117.4 million and FBTC receiving $57.2 million.

The other ten tracked funds, including BITB, ARKB, and GBTC, showed zero net flows rather than outflows. Positive flows narrowed from seven of the 12 funds on Thursday to just two on Friday. The slowdown followed a surge in ETF activity during the preceding session.

Fidelity explains that zero net flow does not mean shares were untraded, as investor trading and share creation are separate activities. The Nasdaq and NYSE are closed on Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day, making Tuesday, Sept. 8, the next regular session. Global Bitcoin trading continues unaffected by the US exchange closure.

Whalio’s Binance spot data shows BTC trading at $80,341.83 with strong short-term buying pressure. The 1-hour buy ratio stands at 63.7% and the 4-hour ratio at 62.8%, indicating active accumulation in the immediate term. However, the 24-hour buy ratio has dropped to 47.6%, suggesting that buying momentum is fading over the longer timeframe. Volume deltas reflect this shift, with positive deltas of nearly $20 million in the last hour and $41 million over four hours, contrasting with a negative 24-hour delta of -$34.2 million. This indicates that while recent trades favor buyers, the daily net flow remains negative. The CVD for the 24-hour close matches this negative delta, confirming net selling pressure over the full day.

The latest daily buy ratio of 46.7% sits at the 18th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.2% - weaker buying than most days.

Over the preceding week, the average buy ratio was 50.3%, meaning today’s 24-hour ratio of 47.6% is 2.7 points below the weekly norm. Trading volume for the day was only 0.63 times the weekly average, indicating significantly reduced activity compared to recent trends. While the 8-day price change was positive at +3.4%, the current session shows lower participation than the weekly baseline. This suggests the market is experiencing a quieter, less active trading day relative to its recent average behavior.
