Coinbase CEO Forecasts Bitcoin at $400,000 by 2030

Bitcoin (BTC) Editor: Eugene Serbin

digitaltoday.co.kr reports that Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong maintains his forecast that Bitcoin could reach $400,000 by 2030. Armstrong reiterated this possibility in a September 19 interview, citing Bitcoin's historical halving cycles. He noted that the network reduces new supply approximately every four years, leading to repeated sharp rallies and major corrections.

Armstrong stated Bitcoin could rise to about three times its previous record high before 2030, though he clarified this is a possible scenario rather than a fixed target. Coinbase also introduced a fixed-rate loan product allowing customers to borrow USDC using Bitcoin as collateral. This product lets borrowers lock in interest costs and repayment maturity at the start of the loan.

It operates on the decentralized lending protocol Morpho Midnight, which does not custody customer funds. Trade settlement for this new service occurs on Base, Coinbase's Ethereum-based layer-2 blockchain. The fixed-rate product will operate alongside the existing variable-rate Morpho Blue service. Active loans in the variable-rate market currently total more than $1.4 billion with about $3.0 billion in collateral.
