CZ Predicts Bitcoin Hits $1M Sooner Than Expected

Bitcoin (BTC) Editor: Eugene Serbin

bitcoinethereumnews.com reports that Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao stated Bitcoin will reach $1 million per coin sooner than anticipated. Speaking at Bitcoin Asia in Hong Kong on Thursday, Zhao claimed the asset will eventually surpass gold’s market value. He noted that countries failing to adopt Bitcoin face risks similar to those missing out on AI technology.

Zhao emphasized that Bitcoin is more dangerous for nations that do not use it, rather than being a danger itself. He dismissed the idea that it requires 25 years to reach the million-dollar mark, asserting it will happen much quicker. The report notes that Bitcoin’s price surged last week following news of U.S. Treasury liquidity-support buyback operations.

These operations were expected to double in size, which weakened the dollar and benefited non-yielding assets like Bitcoin. Bitcoin’s price jumped nearly 12% over seven days, reaching a high of $81,160 before settling at $80,520. Despite this growth, Bitcoin’s $1.6 trillion market cap remains significantly below gold’s $32.2 trillion value. Zhao added that large countries will gradually recognize Bitcoin as a superior asset over the coming years.
