CZ says Bitcoin will surpass gold as major powers shift

Bitcoin (BTC) Editor: Eugene Serbin

lookonchain.com reports that Binance founder CZ stated at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference that Bitcoin will definitely become more important than gold. He acknowledged that major countries possess established systems for valuing and holding gold, so the transition to Bitcoin or crypto assets will take many years. Despite this timeline, CZ believes the shift will absolutely happen because Bitcoin is a far better asset than gold.

This outlook follows a 23% single-week rally in Bitcoin that drove a sharp surge in mining stocks. Some mining shares have outperformed AI-related stocks, with PURR rising more than 20% and MSTR gaining 12%. US-listed crypto concept stocks also extended their rally during this period.

Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz shipping resumption remains in doubt as Gulf oil producers accelerate tanker loading while Asian oil imports stay weak. Demand for Nvidia’s AI chips continues to surge, driven by clients generating rapid profits. Goldman Sachs projects Nvidia will see 70% revenue growth in fiscal 2028, keeping the AI demand outlook strong.
