PAXGy Launches on Ether.fi as ETHFI Trades Near $0.74
cryptowisser.com reported on 6 October 2026 that PAXGy by Paxos Labs is now live on the Ether.fi platform. This launch brings a gold-backed asset onchain, allowing users to hold the token while earning rewards. Ether.fi is a decentralized staking service that lets users retain control of their ETH and validator keys.
The platform utilizes a unique system where stakers encrypt their keys using a node operator's public key. Users receive two types of NFTs: a Transferable NFT representing 30 ETH and a Bond NFT representing 2 ETH. The Transferable NFT can be traded or used in DeFi, while the Bond NFT remains with the staker.
Ether.fi employs distributed validator technology to spread responsibilities across multiple operators. An auction mechanism allows node operators to bid for validator roles. ETHFI was trading at $0.7385 at the time of the report, down 3.7% in the last 24 hours.
How the market reacted
Whalio's own Binance spot order flow for ETHFI, measured when this story was written up on 6 October 2026. Not the outlet's figures.
ETHFI is currently trading at $0.7410, showing a slight price increase from the source figure. The 24-hour buy ratio stands at 52.1%, indicating that buyers controlled the majority of volume over the full day. However, this momentum appears to be fading in the short term, as the 1-hour and 4-hour buy ratios dropped to 45.0% and 47.0% respectively. The Volume Delta reflects this shift, turning negative in the last hour and four hours, though it remains positive over the full day. A negative Volume Delta means that selling pressure outweighed buying pressure in those specific timeframes. Conversely, the positive 24-hour Volume Delta of $192,042 shows that cumulative buying exceeded selling over the longer period.
The latest daily buy ratio of 47.6% sits at the 22nd percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.5% - weaker buying than most days.
Was that an ordinary day?
The same Binance spot measurements for ETHFI, averaged over the days leading up to the story.
Over the preceding week, ETHFI experienced a 4.4% price increase and recorded a total Volume Delta of $1,029,013. The current 24-hour buy ratio of 52.1% is 2.2 points higher than the seven-day average of 49.8%. Despite this slight increase in buying pressure, the current spot volume is only 0.61 times the weekly average. This indicates that while buying intensity is up, overall trading activity is significantly lower than usual. The coin saw net buying on four out of the seven days in the preceding week.
