Chainlink CCIP Enables TAO Swaps on Base

Chainlink (LINK) Editor: Eugene Serbin

cryptotimes.io reports that Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) is facilitating the expansion of TAO to the Base network. Chris Barrett, Senior Director of Communications at Chainlink Lab, confirmed via X that this integration enables TAO swaps on Aerodrome for the first time. CCIP provides the messaging and transfer infrastructure connecting Bittensor assets to Base, allowing users to exchange TAO against assets like USDC.

Simultaneously, Chainlink DataLink is supporting lending and borrowing markets for wARS, a tokenized Argentine peso, by supplying necessary reference data. These moves follow an earlier announcement regarding Coinbase’s cbBTC being added to Robinhood Chain, where CCIP handles token transfers. At the time of writing on August 29, TAO traded at $238.33, down 0.5 percent in 24 hours.

The token’s market capitalization stood at $2.288 billion with a fully diluted valuation of $5.005 billion. Twenty-four-hour trading volume reached $109.293 million, while the circulating supply measured 9.597 million against a maximum of 21 million. Over seven days, TAO rose 6.0 percent, with a weekly range extending from $215.12 to $259.89.

The all-time high of $757.60 from March 7, 2024, remains 68.5 percent above the current price. All three deployments rely on Chainlink systems to apply shared interoperability standards across different assets and venues.

Whalio data shows LINK trading at $11.43 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 43.8% and a 4-hour buy ratio of 52.9%, compared to a 24-hour ratio of 45.8%. The 4-hour buy ratio indicates stronger buying pressure in the short term than the broader 24-hour average, suggesting recent accumulation. However, the 1-hour volume delta is negative at -$47,354, while the 4-hour delta is positive at +$228,337, indicating that immediate selling pressure has offset recent buying in the last hour.
