Monthly order flow: $625.3M of net selling, but $628.6M of net buying once stablecoins are stripped out
Over the month ending 2 September 2026, takers were net sellers of $625.3M across the 145 Binance spot markets tracked by Whalio. This followed a period the previous month where they were net sellers of $6.73bn. Turnover totalled $163.88bn, compared with $117.93bn.
The headline figure and the market underneath it point opposite ways. Dollar-pegged pairs account for -$1.23bn on $68.35bn of turnover, and gold-backed tokens -$28.2M.
Strip both out and the remaining 137 markets were net buyers of $628.6M on $94.33bn of turnover. In other words the negative headline is a stablecoin figure; the coins themselves went the other way.
Breadth: 129 of the 145 coins measured finished the month higher.
The markets that drew the most net buying: Bitcoin $448.4M against a price gain of 21.59%; Solana $173.7M against a price gain of 36.62%; Ripple USD $110.6M; Ethereum $89.6M against a price gain of 28.59%.
The markets that saw the most net selling: USDC $1.42bn; XRP $136.7M against a price gain of 25.6%; Plume $41.2M against a price gain of 29.57%; Pyth Network $33.9M against a price gain of 46.28%.
These are Binance spot markets only, and taker flow measures which side crossed the spread, not money entering or leaving the asset class. Nothing here captures futures, options, or trading away from this order book.
The measurements
Computed by Whalio from closed Binance spot candles. Every figure on this page can be reproduced from the same public exchange data; the method is on the methodology page.
Net flow is the sum of every trade that lifted an offer minus every trade that hit a bid, counted in dollars across the 145 Binance spot markets Whalio tracks. Stablecoin pairs are reported separately because flow there is one dollar token being rotated into another, which is not the same thing as risk being taken or cut.
The latest daily buy ratio of 46.7% sits at the 18th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.2% - weaker buying than most days.
For scale
What these measurements normally look like, so the figures above can be told from ordinary ones.
The same window a month earlier ran -$6.73bn on $117.93bn of turnover, and -$855M once stablecoins and gold tokens are excluded.
