NEAR and Ondo Finance Launch Tokenized US Stocks on NEAR Protocol

NEAR Protocol (NEAR) Editor: Eugene Serbin

cryptowisser.com reports that NEAR Protocol announced a partnership with Ondo Finance on Tuesday to bring tokenized US stocks and ETFs to Near.com. Users can now purchase these assets using stablecoins or supported crypto across more than 30 chains from a single account. The initial offering includes actively traded equities such as NVDAon, TSLAon, AAPLon, GOOGLon, METAon, MSFTon, and AMZNon, alongside SPYon and QQQon.

Ondo’s tokens act as total return trackers, providing economic exposure to price movements and reinvested dividends net of withholding taxes. Fractional tokens are supported, allowing investors to buy a slice of a stock with a single dollar. NEAR Protocol utilizes its Nightshade consensus mechanism to provide dynamic scalability and stabilize fees for these transactions.

The network is designed for User-Owned AI and Chain Abstraction, aiming to eliminate blockchain complexity for seamless transactions. Ondo Finance, founded in 2022, bridges traditional finance with blockchain technology through its ecosystem. The ONDO token serves as a governance token for the Ondo Finance DAO, influencing policies and decisions. Currently, ONDO is trading at $0.4348, having risen 0.4% in the last 24 hours.
