NEAR Protocol Partners With Oracle on Stablecoin Payments and AI

NEAR Protocol (NEAR) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Tron Weekly reports that NEAR Protocol is expanding its ecosystem through new developments in payments and artificial intelligence. Oracle and SVRN have created a proof of concept for stablecoin payments on Oracle Simphony, a point-of-sale system processing over 6.3 billion transactions annually. This system settles payments on NEAR with checkout times under three seconds, allowing settled funds to be used for treasury operations and supplier payments.

Oracle selected NEAR for its fast processing, lower fees, and ability to settle on various chains via NEAR Intents. The integration also supports delegated authorization, enabling one account to operate on behalf of another for tasks like AI agent transactions. Simultaneously, NEAR AI Cloud has become a provider on OpenRouter, making its GLM 5.3 Flash Model available through the platform.

This model features a 1 million-token context window and allows developers to access NEAR AI infrastructure via an existing model routing system. These developments highlight NEAR's focus on providing infrastructure for value movement and information processing. The payment solution is currently in the testing phase before potential real-world implementation. Meanwhile, the OpenRouter integration expands the coverage of NEAR AI’s cloud network for developers.
