KB Securities, Securitize, and Optimism sign MOU for tokenized securities in Korea
KB Securities, part of South Korea’s KB Financial Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Securitize and the Optimism Foundation to explore tokenized securities for institutional investors, according to cryptobriefing.com. The collaboration combines KB Securities’ capital-market capabilities with Securitize’s regulated digital securities infrastructure and Optimism’s blockchain network. The companies aim to build a framework covering the issuance and distribution of tokenized investment products.
Initial products will include a tokenized money market fund and a tokenized fund based on a KB Asset Management strategy. The partners plan to consider additional products such as stocks, ADRs, corporate bonds, and Korean government bonds as local rules develop. KB Securities is also looking at offering existing tokenized funds from global asset managers to Korean institutional investors.
This partnership aligns with South Korea’s move toward a formal regulatory framework for tokenized securities. The Financial Services Commission stated its policy will cover the phased tokenization of traditional securities. Amended legislation is scheduled to take effect in February 2027.
How the market reacted
Whalio's own Binance spot order flow for OP, measured when this story was written up on 23 September 2026. Not the outlet's figures.
Optimism (OP) is trading at $0.1353 with a 24-hour buy ratio of 51.6%, indicating a slight majority of buyers over sellers. However, shorter-term pressure shows signs of weakening, with the 1-hour buy ratio dropping to 42.0% and the 4-hour ratio at 47.7%. Volume delta reflects this shift, showing a net outflow of $108,667 in the last hour and $179,026 over four hours, contrasting with a $370,002 net inflow over the full day. The cumulative volume delta closed at -$66,023, suggesting that recent selling pressure has offset earlier buying. These metrics show that while the day ended with net positive flow, immediate momentum is fading. Buyers are currently outnumbered by sellers in the most recent trading windows.
The latest daily buy ratio of 49.5% sits at the 41st percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 50.1% - ordinary for this coin.
Was that an ordinary day?

The latest day’s buy ratio was 0.6 points higher than the weekly average, showing consistent but slightly elevated demand. This volume delta of $2,203,114 over eight days underscores a strong weekly trend that contrasts with the immediate hourly pullback.
