21Shares Joins Stacks Genesis Bond For Bitcoin Staking

Stacks (STX) Editor: Eugene Serbin

bitcoinethereumnews.com reports that 21Shares is joining the Stacks Genesis Bond for Bitcoin Staking. The digital asset manager announced on September 3 that it will stake its own Bitcoin treasury holdings. This participation precedes the bond's launch on September 10.

The Genesis Bond serves as the inaugural institutional cohort to demonstrate Bitcoin Staking end-to-end. 21Shares oversees more than $6.5 billion in assets across more than 60 crypto ETPs globally. Its involvement links Bitcoin-native yield to the traditional investment ecosystem. By committing its treasury, the firm participates directly in staking on Stacks.

This structure allows holders to earn rewards in Bitcoin while keeping their assets on the Bitcoin blockchain. The first bonding period is expected to begin in October. The program remains a controlled demonstration for institutions until broader rollout. 21Shares did not disclose the size of the stake or the expected yield. Mushumir Butt is the journalist who reported this development.
