NetApp and Cisco Recast FlexPod for AI Infrastructure Demands
SiliconANGLE reports that NetApp Inc. and Cisco Systems Inc. are repositioning their FlexPod franchise as a pretested infrastructure solution for enterprise AI. As companies move AI from pilot phases to production, the joint venture offers a trusted platform to handle the complexity of modern workloads. Over 16 years, the partnership has served 10,000 customers and generated $21 billion in ecosystem value.
Alvaro Celis, NetApp’s chief partner and ecosystem officer, highlighted the engineering alignment that allows the partners to execute at scale. James Cole, Cisco’s vice president of data center networking, explained that infrastructure design has shifted to prioritize data movement. The companies expanded FlexPod for AI in June to provide validated designs without forcing customers to manage integration burdens.
Celis noted that this approach gives clients flexibility alongside the certainty that systems will work at scale. Cole added that two decades of experience are being applied to what he called the most transformative infrastructure event in decades.
How the market reacted
Whalio's own Binance spot order flow for STX, measured when this story was written up on 2 October 2026. Not the outlet's figures.
STX is trading at $0.3739 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 39.0% and a 4-hour buy ratio of 45.6%, both below the 24-hour level of 50.3%. This indicates that buying pressure is fading in the short term compared to the daily average. The 1-hour volume delta is -$15,208 and the 4-hour delta is -$30,781, showing net selling in the immediate and near-term windows. The 24-hour volume delta is +$52,880, meaning net buying has occurred over the full day. The CVD closed at +$47,583, confirming that buyers dominated the 24-hour period despite recent weakness. Net buying occurred for 15 of the last 24 hours, with a total spot volume of $9,666,874 and 109,729 trades.
The latest daily buy ratio of 53.8% sits at the 79th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 50.8% - stronger buying than most days.
Was that an ordinary day?
The same Binance spot measurements for STX, averaged over the days leading up to the story.
The current 24-hour buy ratio of 50.3% is slightly lower than the 7-day average of 52.6%, a difference of 2.3 percentage points. However, the 24-hour spot volume of $9,666,874 is 3.21 times the weekly average, indicating an unusually active trading day. Over the preceding eight days, the price increased by 19.2% with a total volume delta of +$770,933. Net buying was recorded for 5 of the last 7 days. This suggests that while today's buying intensity is lower than the weekly norm, the volume surge is a significant deviation from ordinary trading patterns.
