Bittensor outlines roadmap for full-stack intelligence network

Bittensor (TAO) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Cryptobriefing.com reports that Bittensor is advancing its vision to become a "full-stack intelligence network" where specialized subnets trade services and generate revenue. During Steeves’ keynote at the Exploit Summit on September 28-29, 2026, the project detailed a blueprint for an interconnected subnet economy. As of August and September 2026, 24 subnets are estimated to generate between $28 million and $35 million in annualized external revenue.

Compute-focused subnets like Lium SN51 and Chutes SN64 are reportedly earning more from external customers than they receive in TAO emissions. Fourteen of these revenue-generating subnets are channeling proceeds into buybacks of their own alpha tokens. Enterprise adoption includes clients such as PwC France, Dropbox, and an NYSE-listed REIT.

The network is introducing Gamma tokens to function as usage credits for inter-subnet purchases, building on Dynamic TAO which rolled out in February 2025. Steeves targets December 2027 for transferring control from centralized figures to a democratized governance model. Subnet capacity is also expanding, with discussions centering on scaling to 256 subnet slots. The first TAO halving occurred in December 2025, reducing daily emissions to roughly 3,600 TAO.
