Robinhood Chain Drives Uniswap Fee Surge as UNI Price Doubles

Uniswap (UNI) Editor: Eugene Serbin

bitcoinethereumnews.com reports that Uniswap (UNI) price has doubled since August 14, driven by volume from Robinhood Chain, which now generates two-thirds of Uniswap’s earnings. The network, launched on Arbitrum in July, traded $17.99 billion in August, a 26% increase from July, with September 1 marking its biggest single day. On that day, $1.75 billion of the chain’s $1.95 billion volume passed through Uniswap pools, meaning nearly every new dollar on the chain generates Uniswap fees.

While wallet counts rose 22%, volume increased 7.9 times, indicating existing users are trading significantly more per person. Uniswap collects $78.73 million in fees from Robinhood Chain over 30 days, compared to Arbitrum’s $1.32 million share. The protocol charges a higher 0.465% fee rate on Robinhood Chain versus the global average of 0.214%, particularly in higher fee tiers for tokenized stocks.

Although only 7.9% of fees reach UNI holders via burns, the increased volume and rates boost the total fee pool. This revenue story prompted whale wallets to buy 257,777 UNI as September opened. The price currently trades at $5.73, down 2.1% day-on-day after reaching $6.38. The pullback resembles a bull flag that could resolve upward if it closes above $6.20, or fail if it drops below $5.67.

Whalio data shows UNI trading at $5.85 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 46.1% and a 4-hour buy ratio of 48.5%, both below the 51.6% seen over the past 24 hours. This indicates that short-term buying pressure is fading relative to the broader daily trend. The 1-hour volume delta is -$238,118 and the 4-hour delta is -$581,316, showing net selling in the immediate term. However, the 24-hour volume delta remains positive at +$3,701,031, suggesting that net buying has dominated the full day despite recent dips. The Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD) for the 24-hour period closed at -$843,919, indicating that while volume was high, sell orders slightly outweighed buy orders by the end of the period. Spot volume reached $114,276,172 with 573,119 trades, confirming active participation.

The latest daily buy ratio of 47.4% sits at the 28th percentile of the last 281 days, against a median of 49.2% - weaker buying than most days.

Volume is 2.85 times the weekly average, making this an unusually active trading day for UNI. The 8-day price change stands at +33.7%, with a total volume delta of +$17,959,272 over that period. While the 24-hour buy ratio of 51.6% is close to the weekly average, the significantly higher volume suggests intensified interest. This activity contrasts with the 10 hours of net buying recorded in the last 24 hours out of 24, highlighting a shift in momentum from the broader weekly trend to a more mixed short-term flow.
