Uniswap expands full support for Kraken's Ink chain
Cryptobriefing.com reports that Uniswap Labs has enabled complete access to Ink, Kraken’s Optimistic Rollup chain, across its web app, wallet, and API. This integration allows traders and liquidity providers to utilize Uniswap’s infrastructure directly on the network, which operates within the Optimism Superframework. Although Uniswap V3 contracts were deployed to Ink in December 2024, this update resolves the gap between smart contract deployment and user-facing frontend interaction.
Ink utilizes chain ID 57073 and features 1-second block times to facilitate rapid DeFi trading while inheriting Ethereum’s security. Users on Ink now have access to Uniswap v2, v3, and v4 protocol versions. The chain has accumulated hundreds of millions in total value locked during the period between initial deployment and this full integration.
This move aligns with Uniswap’s strategy of methodically expanding across layer 2 networks to capture trading volume. It also positions Uniswap as a key infrastructure provider for both Coinbase’s Base and Kraken’s Ink. The integration follows a governance request for comments and subsequent GitHub issues that highlighted the need for proper frontend support. This development occurs as the community weighs the tradeoffs between growth ambitions and operational complexity.
