Uniswap hits 7 million daily swaps as fees expand across chains
Cryptocurrency.com.tr reports that Uniswap recorded over 7 million swaps in a single day, marking two of its busiest days by volume. Uniswap founder Hayden Adams confirmed the activity, stating the protocol handles roughly 82 swaps per second across chains. This rate aligns with the daily total of 7 million, which equates to at least 81 swaps per second.
The metric counts individual swaps rather than unique users or the total dollar value traded. This surge follows a rapid expansion of the protocol's fee structure. Governance activated fees across all v2 and v3 pools on 11 chains on July 7.
On July 27, governance added Robinhood Chain for v2 and v3 pools. The same day, the first part of the v4 fee proposal was executed. Fee controllers were activated on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, BNB Chain, Polygon, Optimism and Robinhood Chain. Five other chains were deferred to a later proposal.
How the market reacted
Whalio's own Binance spot order flow for UNI, measured when this story was written up on 2 September 2026. Not the outlet's figures.
UNI trades at $5.85 with a 24-hour buy ratio of 53.1%, indicating that buyers controlled the majority of volume over the day. However, shorter-term pressure shows a shift, with the 1-hour buy ratio at 50.4% and the 4-hour ratio dropping to 44.1%. The 24-hour volume delta is positive at $4,937,536, showing net buying over the full day. In contrast, the 4-hour volume delta is negative at -$913,885, suggesting recent selling pressure. The 1-hour volume delta is slightly positive at $7,565. This data suggests that while buying dominated the day, momentum is weakening in the most recent hours.
The latest daily buy ratio of 45.7% sits at the 13th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.2% - weaker buying than most days.
Was that an ordinary day?
