Uniswap Launches StablePair Hook to Target Arbitrage Bots
cryptowisser.com reports that Uniswap has activated the StablePair Hook on Ethereum mainnet to manage fees for stablecoin pairs. The update targets two specific pools, USDC/USDG and USDC/USDT, using a dynamic fee mechanism to replace static pricing. This system measures price drift against a reference rate to adjust fees on every swap.
Within a tight band, the hook quotes a fixed bid-ask spread to traders. If the price drifts outside this band, swaps that worsen the deviation pay no fee. Conversely, swaps that correct the price from outside the band enter a Dutch auction where fees start high and drop until filled.
This structure aims to give liquidity providers a larger share of value while keeping quotes predictable. The protocol allows governance to upgrade parameters without requiring pool migration. UNI is currently trading at $6.09, showing a 1.6% decline over the last 24 hours.
How the market reacted
Whalio's own Binance spot order flow for UNI, measured when this story was written up on 11 September 2026. Not the outlet's figures.
Whalio spot data shows UNI trading at $5.95 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 31.4%, indicating immediate selling pressure. This contrasts with the 4-hour buy ratio of 49.5%, suggesting that short-term selling has accelerated compared to the recent four-hour average. The 24-hour buy ratio stands at 48.8%, showing a slight increase in buying interest over the full day. Volume Delta reflects this imbalance, with -$442,372 recorded in the last hour and -$1,272,588 over 24 hours. A negative Volume Delta means that sell volume exceeds buy volume, pushing the price down. The Cumulative Volume Delta closed at -$3,999,610, confirming sustained selling pressure throughout the day.
The latest daily buy ratio of 45.7% sits at the 13th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.2% - weaker buying than most days.
Was that an ordinary day?
The same Binance spot measurements for UNI, averaged over the days leading up to the story.
Over the preceding week, UNI experienced a 5.9% price decline with only 3 of 7 days showing net buying. The 7-day average buy ratio was 49.7%, which is slightly higher than the current 24-hour ratio of 48.8%. Trading volume was 0.77x the average, indicating lighter activity than usual. The 8-day Volume Delta was positive at +$24,028, contrasting with the heavy negative flow seen in the last 24 hours. This suggests that while the weekly trend was slightly bullish, today represents a notable shift toward net selling.
