XLM price nears $0.20 as USDT0 launches on Stellar
ambcrypto.com reports that XLM is approaching the $0.20 resistance level after gaining 1.45% from an August low of $0.155. The price reached $0.1964 during the session, trading between $0.1854 and that high. This movement follows the September 2 announcement of USDT0, a new stablecoin on the Stellar network.
USDT0 allows users to access Tether's liquidity directly on Stellar for international payments and settlements. It joins other stablecoins like UDSC and PYUSD, expanding the digital dollar options on the platform. The Stellar Development Foundation stated that USDT0 provides a common supply supported by USDT across networks.
Users do not need to hold XLM to send payments, as the token primarily covers transaction fees. Total trades for XLM have reached 87.09 million as buyers push toward the familiar $0.20 barrier. This level previously stopped advances in July and the second half of August.
Buyers must keep XLM above $0.20 to signal room for a rally toward $0.21 or $0.22. A rejection could see the price fall back to the $0.18 support or the $0.16 regions seen in August. Buying interest is picking up, though it remains below the sharp rallies from earlier in the year.
