Tether USDT Launches on Stellar Network via LayerZero

Stellar (XLM) Editor: Eugene Serbin

cvj.ai reports that Tether’s USDT is now live on the Stellar blockchain, unlocking over $180 billion in liquidity for the network. The integration utilizes LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard to connect Stellar with Tether’s broader stablecoin ecosystem. This move positions Stellar, a payments-focused blockchain, to enhance its appeal in cross-border transactions and emerging markets.

USDT0 is initially available through wallets and exchanges including Kraken, Freighter, Lobstr, Bitget, Fireblocks, Ramp Network, and SushiSwap. Stellar has seen stablecoin payment volume reach $5.5 billion in the first quarter of 2026, marking a 72% year-over-year increase. Tokenized real-world assets on the network also surpassed $2 billion shortly after that quarter ended.

The network already supports Circle’s USDC, Franklin Templeton’s BENJI, and MoneyGram’s MGUSD stablecoin. Tether’s dominance in regions like Latin America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific makes this integration a key milestone for institutional infrastructure. The addition of USDT0 is expected to bolster Stellar’s liquidity stack for users and institutions alike.
