Fortitude upsizes credit facility to $50M for Zcash mining expansion
Cryptobriefing.com reports that Fortitude Mining Holdings, a subsidiary of Digital Currency Group, has increased its credit facility from $26 million to $50 million to fund Zcash mining operations. The company plans to deploy approximately $31 million of the undrawn capital to acquire 9,000 Bitmain Antminer Z15 Pro ASIC miners. This expansion aims to push Fortitude past 60 MW of installed capacity, following recent additions of 12 MW in Grand Island, Nebraska, and 12.5 MW in Prosser, Nebraska.
The firm targets a production cost of roughly $40 per ZEC mined at an optimized power rate near $0.045 per kilowatt-hour. A key structural detail is that Fortitude intends to draw the facility in ZEC rather than dollars, creating a natural hedge against price volatility. The original facility, established on June 1, 2026, carries an 11% interest rate and matures in June 2028.
The amendment allows for additional ZEC-denominated draws through fiscal year 2027. Fortitude is also pursuing a business combination with Nasdaq-listed HeartSciences Inc., which would result in a public listing under the ticker symbol TUDE.
