Grayscale Splits Zcash ETF ZCSH 3-to-1 After $232M Inflows

Zcash (ZEC) Editor: Eugene Serbin

cvj.ai reports that Grayscale has announced a 3:1 forward split for its Zcash ETF, ZCSH, following $232.3 million in net inflows since the product launched on August 25. The split takes effect before trading opens on September 30 on NYSE Arca, where shareholders of record as of September 28 will receive two additional shares for each share held. This structural adjustment lowers the per-share price to improve tradability without changing the economic value of investor positions.

For example, 10 shares at $300 each become 30 shares at $100 each, totaling $3,000 in both scenarios. Grayscale states the move is primarily an accessibility measure to help smaller investors buy whole shares through traditional brokerage accounts. Craig Salm, Grayscale’s Chief Legal Officer, noted that the product uses zero-knowledge proofs to hide transaction details while supporting selective disclosure for compliance.

ZCSH was the world’s first exchange-traded Zcash product and one of four vehicles Grayscale offered as early as 2018. Grayscale directs 100% of management fees into Zcash ecosystem development, positioning the fund as a growth vehicle rather than a passive tracker. The split does not alter the underlying ZEC price risk or guarantee increased demand, though it aims to broaden accessibility. The company highlights that launching a privacy-oriented asset on public markets required significant regulatory engagement compared to other crypto products.

ZEC is trading at $1,562.07 with a 24-hour buy ratio of 50.8%, indicating balanced sentiment over the full day. However, shorter-term pressure shows a decline, with the 1-hour buy ratio at 43.9% and the 4-hour ratio at 42.0%, suggesting buying momentum is fading in the immediate term. Volume deltas reflect this shift, showing net outflows of -$1,257,276 over the last hour and -$8,357,762 over the last four hours. In contrast, the 24-hour volume delta remains positive at +$7,649,322, driven by earlier accumulation. The Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD) for the 24-hour period closed at -$8,888,654, indicating that aggressive selling pressure outweighed buying pressure by the end of the period. Net buying occurred in only 8 of the 24 hours, highlighting intermittent rather than sustained demand.

The latest daily buy ratio of 52.9% sits at the 82nd percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 50.2% - stronger buying than most days.

Trading volume was 1.12 times the weekly average, while the 7-day average buy ratio stood at 51.9%.
