ZCAT hits $69M high as Ansem hypes ZEC dividend meme

Zcash (ZEC) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Lookonchain.com reports that crypto influencer Ansem issued a bullish call for ZCAT, a Solana-based meme token inspired by Zcash's privacy concepts. The token's market capitalization briefly surged past $69 million to reach a new all-time high before pulling back to $50 million. ZCAT features a mascot of an anonymous cat wearing a brown paper bag and levies a ~3% tax on transactions to purchase and airdrop bridged Zcash to holders.

This activity drove a 360% increase in 24-hour trading volume, which now stands at $2.2 million. BlockBeats noted that most meme tokens lack real use cases and are highly volatile, advising investors to exercise caution. Meanwhile, Trader Point Farm Capital earned over $5 million in profits in the past 24 hours, topping the Fomo platform’s leaderboard.

Pair.fund burned more than $5 million worth of PAIR tokens, with cumulative trading volume approaching $100 million. The Tether-backed Orionx announced a permanent shutdown after an audit uncovered a shortfall of over $7 million in custodial assets. Other notable movements include a $PEPE whale transferring 2.1T tokens and Elon Musk’s tweet causing a 30% surge in the MOLT coin.

Zcash is trading at $1,025.95 with a 24-hour buy ratio of 53.0%, indicating that buyers are slightly more active than sellers over the full day. However, the 1-hour buy ratio has dropped to 45.1%, suggesting that short-term buying pressure is fading compared to the broader trend. The 4-hour buy ratio sits at 51.6%, showing a balance between buyers and sellers in the intermediate term. Volume delta reflects this shift, with a positive $8.4 million over 24 hours but a negative $3.7 million in the last hour. This indicates that while net buying has accumulated over the day, recent trades have seen more selling pressure. The cumulative volume delta closed at +$15.2 million, confirming that buying has dominated the session overall.

The latest daily buy ratio of 52.9% sits at the 82nd percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 50.2% - stronger buying than most days.

Today’s 24-hour buy ratio of 53.0% is 2.7 percentage points higher than the weekly average, marking an unusual day of heightened buying interest. Volume was 0.77x the average, meaning trading activity was lighter than usual despite the price gain. This suggests that while today’s buying intensity is above average, the overall weekly trend remains moderately bullish but not exceptionally active.
