Glassnode expands latency monitoring to Ink, OP Mainnet, and ZKsync Era

ZKsync (ZK) Editor: Eugene Serbin

cryptobriefing.com reports that Glassnode has quietly expanded its real-time latency tool to cover three additional Ethereum Layer 2 networks: Ink, OP Mainnet, and ZKsync Era. The analytics firm’s monitor now tracks transaction submission round-trip times to the sequencer endpoints on these specific chains. Unlike Ethereum’s base layer, these networks use single sequencers and lack public mempools, meaning transactions must reach the sequencer quickly to be included in a block.

This structure creates a co-location challenge for high-frequency traders and market makers who must compete on infrastructure speed. To address this, Glassnode deploys global probes across Fly.io and AWS in Asia, Europe, and the Americas to measure these round-trip times. The tool previously covered centralized exchange APIs, Base, Arbitrum One, and Solana validators.

Ink, incubated by Kraken and built on the OP Stack, launched its mainnet in December 2024 and processes over 1 million transactions within its first 24 hours. It transitioned to Optimism’s fully managed OP Enterprise service in June 2026 to reduce operational overhead. OP Mainnet remains one of the most established networks, running on 2-second block intervals. ZKsync Era offers a contrasting ZK-rollup architecture using zero-knowledge proofs, providing traders with comparative data across both major rollup types.
