Justin James completes Restaurant Aptos offering with two intimate bars

Aptos (APT) Editor: Eugene Serbin

foodandbeveragemedia.com.au reports that Justin James has completed the Restaurant Aptos offering with the launch of two new bars. Bar Cruz and Bar Mary have joined the existing Aptos restaurant in a historic 1868 Adelaide Hills church located at 147 Mount Barker Road, Stirling. James launched Aptos earlier this year with a 17-course menu showcasing Australia’s natural landscape and wild local ingredients.

Bar Cruz shares a lounge with Aptos and features a bar area with capacity for six, a dining room for ten, and a wine room accessible on request. James describes Bar Cruz as a vibrant extension of the Aptos experience, noting it shares the same team, kitchens, and beverage offering. Patrons can order signature Aptos dishes such as scallop, wagyu, kangaroo, and marron, alongside playful staples like the Cruz burger.

Bar Mary is an eight-seater venue focused on whisky, which can also be booked as a private dining room for the Cruz or Aptos menus. Bookings are available online, though walk-ins are permitted for Bar Cruz and Bar Mary. The venue is part of a broader hospitality landscape that includes other recent openings and collaborations in the region.
