Nexo Australia Launches Crypto Credit Lines Under Representative Structure

Nexo (NEXO) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Cryptonexa.com reports that Nexo Australia has launched crypto-backed credit lines, allowing eligible clients to borrow Australian dollars or stablecoins against digital assets. The products are provided by Nexo Individual Loans Pty Ltd and serviced by Avgi Pty Ltd, which holds an Australian Credit Licence. Nexo Australia operates as a credit representative under number 580430, rather than holding its own Australian Financial Services Licence.

The company is relying on ASIC’s class no-action position dated 25 June 2026 while its AFSL application remains in the queue. Clients can choose between Smart and Standard credit lines, with interest rates ranging from 0.9% to 21.9% based on product type and loyalty level. Peter Stanhope, general manager at Nexo Australia, stated that the main differences between tiers involve rates, asset selection, and collateral management if the loan-to-value ratio rises.

Funds are generally available within 24 hours, though margin calls and liquidation remain live risks. This structure contrasts with Block Earner, which holds its own Australian Credit Licence issued directly to Web3 Loans Pty Ltd. The broader legislative backdrop includes the Corporations Amendment (Digital Assets Framework) Act 2026, which passes Parliament on 1 April 2026 and commences in April 2027.
