Aave Supports Circle Mint Borrowing With cirBTC Collateral
cryptowisser.com reports that Aave Labs announced on Tuesday that its protocol is now supported in Circle Mint's Digital Asset-Backed Borrowing product. Eligible Circle Mint LLC customers can now use cirBTC as collateral to borrow USDC from Aave on Arc or Ethereum directly within Circle Mint. Aave is a decentralized finance protocol that allows users to lend and borrow crypto by depositing assets into liquidity pools.
The protocol was originally known as ETHLend when it launched in November 2017 before rebranding to Aave in September 2018. Aave provides holders with discounted fees and governance rights over the protocol's future development. It is a decentralized, open-source, and non-custodial money market protocol where depositors earn interest from liquidity pools.
Borrowers can obtain overcollateralized loans using the liquidity from these pools. AAVE is trading at $175.65 per token, down 2.6% in the last 24 hours. The project allows people to borrow and lend in about 20 cryptocurrencies, offering users greater choice. One of Aave’s flagship products is flash loans, which are uncollateralized loan options that must be paid back within the same transaction.
